Teddy Washington Institute
Teddy Washington Institute (TWI) is a major Families Across America project designed to create a community of parents, guardians, teachers and school administrators to work together to improve and enhance student behavior and academic performance. This program would enable the participants to communicate freely their concerns about student behaviors which detract from the learning environment; and ways to enact character-building interventions.
TWI is a music and arts program that lays out a way to promote a college-going, career ready culture in low-income communities; engaging innovative ways to prepare children and youth to meet 21st century challenges. Through “Big Thoughts,†we seek to collaborate with other thinking minds to expand our program and give (Jacksonville, Florida) children access to learning opportunities while having fun, and allowing them to think creatively, excel academically, and make right choices.
TWI raises the bar for music and the arts as tools to motivate learning and become a great testament to the power of public and private organizations that are partnering to transform hundreds of thousands of children, with global competitiveness that impacts the future of our cities, states, and nation.
