Families Across America, Inc. (FAAI), is proud to have hosted the official Major League Baseball sponsored, Pitch, Hit & Run sports competition skills for boys ages 7-14 in both Clarksburg and Germantown, Maryland that had a win/win outcome for the participating families, the project, and the community outreach at large. Now, we are happy to announce that we will be hosting this FREE fun-filled day of excitement in Jacksonville, Florida during the spring of 2011. We used this event to convey character-building concepts, which are the core of our Families Across America “Success Begins at Home” education initiative. It is a fun way to stay fit and participate in our “music and the arts are motivators for learning” workshop.
A new approach is needed to stimulate the imagination of our youth. This workshop encourages the development of positive social behaviors by emphasizing patience, discipline, and good communication. These activities won’t stop there, moving is second nature to music and the arts, which shifts into the art of walking, stepping, running, throwing, and turning too! This official MLB Pitch, Hit & Run sports competition helps us integrate family wellness and education initiatives that help create a college-going culture for our youth. You will be surprised how life-changing principles that are meaningful, measurable, and sustainable bring “Success that begins at home.”

Family Issues in the News:
How Do Four Young Men Trust Bishop Eddie Long, whom they call, “Daddy,”
after accusing him of sexual assault?
Fatherhood must be made fashionable again! But, not in the fashion of worldly seductions. Rather, fatherhood should be made fashionable dressed in the strength of integrity, and leadership in moral decision-making.
From that position, it is hardly possible to think of the young boys, who thought they had a safe place to learn and grow in their manhood, while under the nurturing guidance of their spiritual father figure in Bishop Eddie Long, Senior Pastor at New Birth Church, in Atlanta, Georgia.
The very foundation of fatherhood is based on a foundation of integrity, not seducing mind games, gifts, exotic travel, and the glamour of power. It’s a crying shame that an incident originating from one claiming to be a moral leader could become caught up in such a disgraceful public scandal as what is being portrayed in international news about Bishop Long. More importantly, what is worst is that the way the Bishop is characterizing the incident between himself and the four young men accusing him of sexual misconduct.
It is a mistake to believe that any human being, even men of the cloth are beyond human frailty. They are not Superman, they are just a man, and could find themselves facing weaknesses that are stronger than their ability of self-control. Even Superman, could not face up to kryptonite, which caused him to become weak and loose all of his self-control. Bishop Long’s confrontation should not be with Goliath, as he described how he felt about his dilemma and the young men accusers. Stating that, “he has five stones and he has not thrown one of them yet.” Rather, he should see the need to humble himself before those young men, and show them that the faith he supposedly taught them to believe in, is strong enough to forgive and to cleanse from all unrighteousness, by showing the power of repentance before the God he preached to them.
Those guys were already downtrodden when they came to Bishop Long for leadership. They bought in to a doctrine taught by Bishop Long, which showed them how to trust and believe they were secure beyond human frailty, because they are protectively sealed, by believing in a doctrine of confession and forgiveness. So one would think, giving the attention that was needed in the right spirit of the Word would have been bigger than the five stones that anyone without sin could throw - least of all, Bishop Eddie Long? Those young men needed to see a demonstration of Bishop Long’s power through his humility, by first recognizing that he had caused them to be hurt and troubled to the extent that they went to for attention to their concerns. They had no power other than to release their concern to the world, which incidentally showed them more compassion than the man they called, “Daddy.”

Parents Letter
Parents,
Families Across America®
is the national "
Voice
" concerning the traditional family talking about vital kitchen table issues. Integrating family wellness and education initiatives is the center of our attention for real families to find real solutions that create a college-going culture for our children. Our goal is to prepare our children to receive and make better the nation we turn over to them as world leaders.
In order to give our children the focus they deserve as students, America has reached a point, where we can no longer wait for others to speak on behalf of our family issues . . . we must speak out as families ourselves. Currently, our children are caught in the middle of education reform battles. We cannot allow ourselves to be left out of the national dialogue from politicians and policy makers jockeying for their position. We must incorporate our efforts to find solutions that address the complexities of grassroots families who are trying to deal with these challenges. After all, "
Success Begins at Home®
."
We have a single-minded pursuit of a four-prong policy to achieve our goals by (a) engaging responsive family conversations with policy makers about our childrens education, and putting them first in reforming Americas education system; and leveraging the field so that poor people who cannot afford privileged sustenance can actually experience the race to the top ideology. (b) Rally one million men to model character-building leadership with accountability as husbands and fathers. (c) Mobilize citizens toward holding our legislators accountable to promote and protect laws that preserve traditional family values. Lastly, (d) recruit one million members to raise one billion dollars in one year for implementing American non-profit organization programs and services that bridge the gap from government elimination of schooling in the arts, physical education, and other entitlement funding that supplements family wellness and education mentoring and tutoring initiatives.

Together we can make it happen.
