About Us
Reverend Peyton began his ministerial life in 1884 in Washington, D.C., during a time of racial adversity. But, he realized his purpose in life and remarkably surpassed achieving his goals by training and developing church congregation administrational skills from Pennsylvania to Georgia, U.S.A. He was confidently a superb and eloquent orator, driven by advocating Christianity and Education as a constant foundation for strong families. Resulting in, the founding of Fort Valley State University, located in Fort Valley, Georgia was the cooperative vision of Elder Peyton and his son-in-law the late Thomas McAfee. Moreover, Elder Peytons seed continually bares life-changing fruit through members of his family.
• The late Daisy Peyton McAfee Bonner , his first daughter, who was a chef (the cook) for President Franklin D. Roosevelt, is memorialized at the Little White House, in Warm Springs, Ga., where she signed the historic note on the kitchen wall that says, I cooked the first and last meal first the President of the United States.
• The late Ruth Peyton Douglas , his second daughter a registered nurse and philanthropist provided scholarships and taught nursing for over 30 years to underprivileged nursing students in California; in addition to an endowment of at least one million dollars to Fort Valley State University.
• Evelyn Peyton Peters-Washington , his granddaughter has a global testimony about her passion for serving the underserved, a mission continuing in the work of over 126 years of Elder Peytons efforts to preserve traditional family values based on Biblical principles. For many years, Evelyn championed a quiet ministry that fed the hungry, clothed the needy, and housed the homeless with her personal funds. She has a gift of wisdom and understanding that undergo lifes challenges with stable peace and hope at heart, with a compassionate way of listening and praying which compels her to offer such hope to others. Like her grandfather, she commenced her mission at the reflecting pool in front of the nations capital of Washington, D.C. She has declared her vision at the Vatican, in Rome, via a televised interview that carried her message throughout Italy on the News from the Vatican television network; And in West Africa, she received Honorary Citizenship and Key to the City in the United Republic of Cameroon, an independent republic in West Arica.
Evelyns specialized skills for her mission come from her training at Beacon Seminary in Columbus, Georgia, which led her to ministerial and evangelical ordination; she is a graduate of Leadership Institute in Arlington, Va.; and Financial Instructor certified by the Timothy Plan Financial Course. She is the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development for the Parks & Company; Former International Director of Resource Development and Community Relations, for Bethel World Outreach Ministries International. And, she has over 30 years career experience in life coaching and personal management, professional entertainment productions, creative services and artist development in the entertainment/music industry. And, most importantly, she is the devoted mother of three children.
I once heard, The ruin of a nation is in the homes of its people. says, Evelyn. Yes, the growing popularity of trendy secular fads is causing little attention for preserving our traditional family foundation from becoming extinct. The tragedy of this overwhelming challenge is seen in the negative effect it has on our children. This is what drives me to make Families Across America a platform that informs, guides, and mobilizes people to emphasize family strengths and core values that make Home a safe place for children to learn and grow; which is the constant investment a civilization can give to its future.
From early childhood, Evelyn Peyton's upbringing comes from a Christian influence. Anointed with powerful and life-changing experiences that speaks volumes and gives a compelling testimony; Evelyn was born into a unique legacy as a descendent of her grandfather, the late Elder Reverend James Holman Peyton. "If you haven't noticed, America is changing rapidly and striping away the core of the American citizens' foundational principles." Her remarks focused on her belief that; our education, homestead, government and economic pillars are falling. And, a whole sector of society - the middle class, which has always been the place where people climbed toward higher goals in life and gave strength to our western civilization, is crushed" Determined to get involved to preserve traditional American character, she is the visionary of her 501 (c)(3) national public charity, Families Across America, Inc. The importance of her vision has become even more elevated as the growing trends of child abuse is piercing our sense of well-being and manifesting themselves in dangerous and too often lethal outcomes.
